Blogged on two of our favourite blogs Here Comes the Sun and Studio Home. Thanks for the love ladies!! xx

This Sunday, gran's loose change is flying to Melbourne for a week of vintage shopping, volleyball-watching, eating, drinking, family time, relaxing and sunbathing. By gran's loose change I mean me, and by me, I mean me, JM and his entire family. The youngest of the tribe is playing volleyball so we are all tripping over for one whole week. I am wetting my pants excited!
The first time I went to Melbourne was for a work trip when I worked in PR in Sydney. The second time was for a work trip when I worked in PR in Sydney. SO I spent most of my time in the convention centre and the Crown Casino function room. I did however manage to venture out to see my dear friend Selina who opened my eyes to the amazing culture and vibe that is Melbourne and had the best Italian I have ever had on Lygon St with my wonderful friend Tuxy. I am drooling just thinking about it!
This time, I am VERY excited to be able to explore the nooks and crannies Melbourne has to offer. An entire week with no set plans! glc fans, do you have any fave places you think we should visit?
I have VERY big plans for the markets and hidden op-shop gems and cannot wait to show you the adventures we will have. Melbourne, I'm coming...five sleeps to go!
Dear life,
It would be great if time could just stand still for one single day and let me catch up on all the little bits and pieces that are overwhelmingly rearing their heads at me and begging for attention.
gran's loose change has moved. Into a much smaller, more compact little place with less than half of the storage space. That means photos are no longer in the white studio we used to have, clothes and product is scattered in places it shouldn't be scattered and things are taking a little longer than usual. (But we are getting there!)
Anyway, I just thought I would send you a little shout out and ask if you would be ever so kind as to stand still tomorrow about 9am, let me work aaaalllll day and then resume as normal with no one else none the wiser. Please and thank you..?
No? Ok. It was at least worth a try.
Have a good day,
Kelly

I just had to share this beauty of a shot of my precious 'niece'. Sabine is my best friend's three year old and she had a helluva time at The Little Big Markets. She got her face painted, ate carrot cake and caused general three year old havoc. I love this pic that Nat snapped of her and was told that on Sunday AND Monday Sabi asked her Mummy: 'We're going to Aunty Kelly's markets again aye Mum?'. Two weeks to go Sabi! See you then xxx
The launch of the Little Big Markets happened this past Saturday and so I apologise to all of you out of town (meaning not living in the Mount) fans for the tardiness of new product uploads. However, now that the first day is over, I have a plan of attack and can now manage both the markets and the store a lot more concisely. Thank you for your patience!
A lot of hard work went into the prep - not just for the gran's loose change stall, but into the entire planning of the market day - and we were rapt with the results. Because I moved house the day/night before I was therefore lagging a bit in organisation for the gran's loose change stall, but we did ok. Look out next time though, we are going to create stall envy!
The day was beautiful, the sun was shining, people were excited, people were EVERYWHERE!
We met new friends and had current friends stop by all day, even our favourite little family, the Mathiesons.
And the drummer from the Dan Libres.
And the singer slash guitarist from the Port Royals.
The markets were consistently busy from 9am til about lunchtime, with pack down starting about quarter to 2. Feedback from other stallholders was positive and Rachelle, from Idiom Boutique and I were proud to have brought such a successful day to the mount, and the Bay. The next one will be bigger and better! Bring on November 20th!
The gran's loose change success couldn't have happened without the support and help from a handful of wonderful people, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you. A huge thank you to JM for being on the answering end of my freak outs, demands and tantrums, and still helping me out for the entire day... I can't thank you enough.
Hope to see you all at the next Little Big Markets, and remember, if you'd like a stall, email me at hello@gransloosechange.co.nz for more information.
